The film is a an old dark house spoof staring Thelma Todd and Chester Conklin. The plot carries the (even by this time) well worn story of a group of people gathered at a creepy mansion for the reading of a will. It was made for First National and was, believe it or not, directed by Benjamin Christensen (who gave us Häxan). It was released in November of 1928 and ran for an hour and ten minutes. A partial silent version with a musical score and sound effects had a limited release, while the fully silent version was more widely distributed. Listed as a lost film until 2020 when the UCLA Film and Television Archive announced that it had what is thought to be a complete copy.
